My name is Frank Tang, and art has always been an important part of my life. Throughout the years, I have been fascinated by the way art connects people across cultures, generations, and experiences. This passion eventually led me to Jingdezhen, China—the world-renowned Porcelain Capital with a ceramic heritage spanning more than a thousand years.

​

My first visit to Jingdezhen sparked a curiosity that would eventually become a much deeper journey. While the city is famous for its porcelain, I soon discovered that its true artistic treasures are often hidden beyond the typical tourist experience. Near the end of that trip, I was fortunate to meet a local ceramic art collector who introduced me to a side of Jingdezhen that few visitors ever experience—the vibrant community of artists, educators, craftspeople, and innovators who continue to shape the city’s living ceramic culture.

Inspired by this encounter, I returned to Jingdezhen the following year. With the guidance of local artists and friends, I experienced the city in an entirely new way. I visited traditional kilns, witnessed kiln openings, met master ceramic artists, explored studios and workshops, engaged with professors and students at Jingdezhen Ceramic University, and attended the Jingdezhen International Ceramic Expo. I also spent time in the city’s vibrant art markets, where hundreds of emerging artists gather to share their work and ideas.

Instead of simply discovering a historic ceramic center, I found a thriving creative community where centuries-old traditions coexist with contemporary innovation, and where artists from around the world come together to learn, create, and inspire one another.

​

That experience eventually grew into a shared vision. Together with a small group of like-minded friends who believe in the power of art, culture, and creative exchange, we created ChinaArtOdyssey to offer artists, ceramic enthusiasts, and cultural travelers an opportunity to experience the authentic heart of Jingdezhen.

​

Our mission is to create meaningful journeys that connect artists, collectors, educators, and cultural explorers with the rich artistic heritage and living ceramic culture of Jingdezhen. We believe that the most memorable travel experiences come not only from visiting remarkable places, but from meeting remarkable people and building lasting friendships.

​

Working closely with local partners, artists, educators, and cultural organizations, we have designed a thoughtfully curated program that offers experiences rarely available to ordinary visitors. Participants will have opportunities to learn from master artists, explore important ceramic institutions, create their own ceramic artwork, and engage with a global community of ceramic practitioners.

At the same time, we believe that a journey to China should be both educational and enjoyable. Alongside the ceramic experiences, our programs include visits to museums, historic towns, cultural landmarks, breathtaking landscapes, and regional culinary experiences, creating a well-rounded and unforgettable adventure.

Our goal is simple: to inspire creativity, deepen artistic understanding, foster meaningful friendships, and create memories that participants will carry with them long after they return home.
